Abstract
A new specimen of pliosaur from the Oxford Clay of Peterbrough, Cambridgeshire, contains stomach contents, including cephalopod hooklets and gastroliths. The specimen is associated with organic matter thought to be derived from the decomposing carcase and shows some indication of soft tissue preservation in the region of the thorax. This is the first pliosaur from the famed reptile beds to be scientifically excavated.
