Abstract
The Middle Jurassic (Callovian) formations of "Marnes d'Argences" and "Marnes de Dives" in Normandy, stratigraphically equivalent to the Oxford Clay of England, have yielded a rich marine reptile fauna. Sauropterygians are abundant and represented by both pliosaurs (Liopleurodon ferox, Liopleurodon cf. L. pachydefrus, Simolestes vorax, Peloneustes philarchus) and plesiosaurs (Muraenosaurus leedsi, Cryptocildus eurymerus, Tricleidus seeleyl). These species have been reported previously from the Oxford Clay of England.
