Kronosaurus

Kronosaurus

Painting of Kronosaurus by John Conway.

It shows the animal is shallow water. Remains of Kronosaurus have been found in estuarine deposits, so this is a perfectly reasonable even for so large an animal. The relatively large head is based on recent developments in our knowledge of this genus. The famous mounted skeleton 12.8 meters long in Harvard was based on incomplete knowledge of the animal and included too many vertebrae, especially in the dorsal region.
